TOPIC: Skincare for super sensitive skin

Skincare for super sensitive skin 5 years, 5 months ago #1434

Hi!
I am new to the STS world. I just read Dr. Baumann's book two weeks ago and am now on the road to finding the best products for my skintype. First of all, I am a DSNW. I am borderline D/O and am wrinkle prone because of genetics and previous sun exposure (I am 20). I have tried everything! I have even seen 3 different dermatologists over the past 5 years, and have been dismissed by each (based on other forums, though, I am beginning to wonder where they got their degrees... military docs). I have been prescibed everything from Differin to Retin-A to prescription sulphur cleansers to antibiotics (to which I am now very allergic!!!) I have always been diagnosed with acne, but the older I get, the more I think it's not acne. I honestly think it is an allergic reaction to food or products. I almost never develop any large bumps or white heads and never any blackheads. Somehow, I constantly have small red dots all over my cheeks and around my nose that don't go away. A lot of times, my face feels hot, almost burning, especially after eating. I have tried almost everything known to mankind as far as skincare products and am getting terribly frustrated. I have started out on some of the suggested products Dr. Baumann recommended, but I am not sure what to expect. I just start using a different cleanser and added the Aveeno Calming moisturizer SPF 15 to my skincare regimine but my face still turns lobster red as soon as it touches my face. Should I continue using these products? Will the redness go away? Or am I just expecting too much? Also, I am considering seeing an allergist to see if I am allergic to any foods/chemicals. Please help! I am very open to suggestions.
