Dr. Baumann and anyone-

I am not sure if I have missed this point in the book or what but here goes:
I am a DSNW but since using CeraVe cleanser, CeraVe moisturizing lotion and no scrubbing, no glycolics, my S seems to be subsided. However, I have had a few break outs and recently obtained a sample of the sulpur masks by Peter Thomas Roth and DDF to combat the breakouts. My question is sense my skin has calmed, can I use a product with Vit C and a Retinol or either at all? If so, would I need to build up to it? I know that for S's you recommend to avoid both if one has redness, but was wondering if there was a 'but if' somewhere I missed.

I feel like my skin is responding well but wonder what my options are for wrinkles/aging as it seems for a DSNW we are very limited.

Thank you for you time.

Mak,

Maybe you should post this in the Q&A section. Dr. Baumann will be more likely to see it and respond there.

I will say Renova pretty much prevents me from having any breakouts or blackheads at all.

I hear ya about the S subsided over time. Once I became more gentle with my skin, I noticed the same thing.

So I started on a retinoid, building up very slowly exactly the way she recommends in the book. I am happy to say I am now tolerating it every day with no irritation. And it is addressing breakouts and wrinkles at the same time. Later this year, when we plan on getting pregnant again, I will be going off it, and will be bummed to do so, since I like what it's done so far.

Whatever you decide to start, build up slowly and if you experience any irritation, cut back usage. Maybe now that you have a healthy skin barrier, you will have better success!!

Hmmm....well
I posted the question to the Q&A and still no answer. Surely there is nothing offensive or inappropriate in my question/post?
