Hi Everyone,

Got to see my Doc yesterday, who confirmed my self-diagnosis of mild rosacea AND latex allergy. I diagnosed myself with diabetes 11 years ago too, but that is a whole other story. It sure gives the ego a boost when you suspect something and it turns out you are right! So, I have been placed on Periostat (deoxycycline), which is more of an antiinflammatory than an antibiotic. It doesn't have the antibiotic side effects. Also got a Rx for Differin Cream. I told the Doc I would stop using the Differin if I noticed any increase in facial blood vessels. Apparently, that can happen in some folks who have rosacea. My Doc said another patient had been in who also had a copy of Dr. B's book! I took my copy to the office with me, and explained how following Dr. B's recs. had helped my skin. I gave her a whole list of ingredients that I am sensitive to and she put the list in my chart. The list included tap water and mineral waters!

Best of all, I have lost a few pounds and my diabetes blood work came back great! My blood sugar is under good control! Yippee!

If I seem over-excited, I am. That is the first GOOD report from a Doc that I've had in the past 11 years! Usually it's "Your blood pressure is still too high," or "your blood sugars are still too high," etc. This time, everything was right on!

I was told that the Differin can cause bleaching of clothing and bed linens, so I am to wear a white t-shirt to sleep in and use a white pillow case for my pillow. Guess who will have to "borrow" one of Hubbo's t-shirts!
