Hi everyone,

I have dehydrated skin with some fine lines in some areas I noticed around my period that is when my rosacea acts up.  I have Renova but I am afraid it would dry out my skin further.  I have not tried any of the moisturizers she recommends yet I am afraid they will not work for me.  I have tried moisturizers from philosophy, dermalogica, skin ceuticals, and a few others but no luck either they are too heavy or not moisturizing enough.  The elizabeth arden sounds good from what you guys have said.  Foundations are another thing I am using Jane Iredale liquid.  Any suggestions for me I am so confused.

Thanks

PomMom,

My skin type is different from yours, but I just wanted to say that I doubt Renova would dry you out terribly. You use just a tiny amount and can moisturizer over it. You could start out every other night and see how it went. I have Rosacea and it has calmed down since I've started using the calming moisturizers. I'm using Olay Regenerist serum unscented (was using that anyway), Aveeno Ultra Calming Moisturizer Lotion SPF15, and Prescriptives Redness Relief Gel. These are all things she recommends, although maybe not for your type.

I would suggest going ahead and trying something, although only one product at a time and see how it goes. Good luck!

Popmom,

My sister has your exact skin type and she has rosacea. She has been using all the Eucerin brand "redness relief" products and she absolutely LOVES them. She moved to Arizona last year and has been suffering terribly. She isn't using any kind of prescription. She has 5 kids and won't make time to see a dermatologist. I sent her this book and she immediately went out and bought everything. She feels alot better now.
Good luck.

PomMom,
I use the Elizabeth Arden Ceramide plump perfect moisturizer and the Advanced Time Complex Capsules.  (I had them before I bought the book but never used them - I thought I had OILY skin.)  They feel wonderful and other than the cost, would recommend them highly.
The Eucerin Perfecting Lotion is good, too.  It is  green, and takes a bit of extra time to apply it.  Aveeno Ultra Calming Moisturizer isn't quite as hydrating on my skin.
If you aren't sold on moisturizers, I'd suggest getting one of the less expensive ones and trying it.  Good Luck!

PomMom - I have a GREAT suggestion for you. A user in another forum recommenced this product to me - Avene Diroseal. I don't have rosacea, but I do have tendencies - flushing and hives. The Diroseal is a 3 month regimen. I've been using it every morning for over a month - not ONE hive! Also, I started Renova with no ill effects. (Retinoids are often used to TREAT rosacea, so don't be afraid if you start out slow.) You can do a search and read up on Avene products through their site and reviews on Makeupalley. I had to order mine from a Canadian Pharmacy.
