Hi All,
Yesterday I was wearing shorts; today it's sweatpants! A dramatic weather change. You can imagine what this does to my face. I am usually up in the wee hours of the a.m., reading up on skin care. Came across some advice in one of Paula B's articles. In a nutshell: Avoid using anything with "active" ingredients until the skin is well hydrated. Best for me are very bland products. So today I am truly back to square one. No more splash and dash!
Albolene wipe off cold cream
A bare spritz of distilled water
Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream
Cetaphil Moisturizing Sunscreen SPF 15
Anything that causes the face to tingle, Paula says, is an irritant. Avoid them. No products with vitamins, minerals, herbs, exfoliants, detergents, or fragrance. That doesn't leave much out there. The Albolene contains beta carotene -- isn't this a form of vitamin A? If I can't use that, then I am truly sunk. Anyway, I used the above, and face feels good and non-tingly. I can't see me doing this for a whole winter though. I really hate the cold cream, but water makes things worse. Sorry for the rant. Inky
