Hi All,
Well, I did it -- used tapwater to rinse the face this a.m.! I have well water, so I'm getting minerals on my face that way. One thing I noticed right away was that I wasn't getting the temperature shock from spraying cold thermal water to rinse with. I used Paula's Choice Skin Recovery Cleanser, which is very cushy and does not contain fragrance or SLS.
Sin#2: Used 1% BHA lotion to gently exfoliate! <gasp!> After 10 days on the regimen, I felt that all the moisture wasn't able to penetrate deep enough into my skin. I was moisturizing surface cells and the moisture was evaporating too quickly. Oh, how I spritzed and slathered! To no avail.
Followed this with a spritz of thermal water, applied moisturizer, and THEN
topped it off with Clinique's Weather Everything Evironmental Cream SPF 15. This last product is Titanium Dioxide + dimethicone, so it is not only a physical sun block, but also a barrier to prevent moisture loss.
Face feels calm with no redness or stinging. I haven't yet figured out how to tweak the regimen for tonight. I'll probably use a cold cream. But -- maybe not! Stay tuned for further develipments! <g> Inky
