I realized I'm not oily anymore (was 27 in test) and retook the test last night. I am now a 22 in the O/D section (slightly dry). It's amazing that it's changed so much. I expected to get oilier this summer, not drier! I'm not used to having such dry skin.

I've found that my Olay Reginerist Serum isn't working that well for moisturization (isn't recommended for dry types) and have been piling on the Dr. Denese Triple Strength Wrinkle Smoother over my Renova at night. I looked up the ingredients in this and there are lots of recommended ingredients from the book.

I'm wanting to add facial water spray to my regimen, probably LaRoche-Posay Thermal Spring Water since that's Dr. B's favorite. I can order this, but can it also be found locally? Where do you find it? I have really hard water, and I thought this might be really nice.

I think my cleanser is fine, but I will try the Dove Sensitive Essentials Non-Foaming Cleanser next. My Dr. Denese moisturizer is fine. I love it actually. I've gone back to my Dr. Denese foundation, which I thought would be too moisturizing this summer.

It's amazing that my skin is changing so much. I don't mean to turn this into a medical discussion, but I've been having thyroid/adrenal gland problems lately. They just found a lesion on my adrenal gland that I think has been messing things up for me. I can't help but wonder if this has contributed to my skin changes. I mentioned in a recent post that my broken capillaries are more pronounced.

I've looked up comments on the facial water but can't seem to find what I want. Comments please?

Thanks,

c

Hi Nicknack,

I can help you on the La Roche posay thermal water. I love that stuff! I'm an OSPW (31 on O/D) but I use this morning and night and it doesn't make me any oilier, just helps to keep the moisture in. And it sure helps to calm my skin. I don't know where you live but my sister lives in Arizona and she can buy all the La Roche posay line at CVS. I'm hoping it will make its way all the way west (CA). SO I would say check your local CVS. Otherwise you'll have to order it. :-

Good luck with everything!!

Sondra

P.S. on the broken cappilary issue, I did the laser thing which helped tremendously!!! ($300-$500) Relatively inexpensive compared to other laser stuff.

The Dove Sensitive Essentials Non Foaming cleanser was discontinued. Dr. Baumann said in the Q & A section that the Dove Deep Moisture Creamy facial cleanser is a good substitute. I bought it, but haven't tried it out yet since I'm more toward O in the summer.

I did find the Dove Sensitive Essentials Non Foaming cleanser at Big Lots two weeks ago. There was also a Dove one called Essential Nutrients non foaming cleanser for sensitive skin which was exactly the same, with the exact same ingredient listings. I picked up a few bottles for wintertime when I get dry.

The LRP Thermal water is only available at certain CVS stores so far, other than online.  Also the Avene one is really good too. I just ordered it recently and like it a lot too. That too can be found at certain CVS stores in certain parts of the country.

Sorry to hear about your medical issues. It's amazing how it can affect our skin isn't it?

Good luck with your new regimen

Marcy

P.S. Which Dr. Denese moisturizer do you use? I still try out different ones from time to time since I never seem to be satisfied with moisturizers. Either too heavy or not moisturizing enough.

<P.S. Which Dr. Denese moisturizer do you use?>

Marcy,

I use Dr. Denese Triple Strength Wrinkle Moisturizer. It's very rich and emoillent. I have used it for over a year now and really love it. Ingredient list can be found here: drdenesebeauty.com/3x.htm

I ended up ordering the La Roche-Posay water from Dr. Baumann's store. I'll check our CVS and see if they have it though. I've noticed they have several things that Dr. B recommends.
