Hi, DSPWs!
I just returned from a weekend at the beach, and wonder if anyone has had this same (strange) experience: I have rosacea, and my only trigger is heat and exertion. I turn purple in the Florida summer and whenever I workout or work in the yard. This is always followed by a major outbreak of papules and itching and the rest of the disgusting syndrome.

At the beach, I was in the sun all day, in the 30 knot wind all day, BUT stayed in the surf where I body surfed and played with my kid for hours. Each time I came out of a wave, I wiped my face and felt fewer and fewer bumps. The itching and flaking was gone, as well as most of the papules, after only a few hours in the ocean.
This is probably not good for everyone, as wind and sun can be rosacea triggers, from what I have read. However, if you, like me, react ONLY to being overheated, you may want to try ocean water/saline? to clear the bumps.
Let me know if this works for you. Please don't even attempt it if you know that the sun or the wind are triggers for your rosacea!
BTW, I have done doxyclycline/metronodyzle (sp?) for over a year and this is the only thing that has cleared up the bumps.
