Hello!
I was just wondering if anyone has tried out the new Laventine Honey Hydrating Mask.
I got a 10% off coupon, and I was going to get another Olive Forte Oil cleanser, but I'm contemplating adding this mask to my order.
Any experiences, good or bad, with this?
Edit: So I saw it went on sale (a small reduction, but enough to convince me), and went ahead and bought it. Maybe they had trouble getting people to try it for the first time on account of the price? I don't know. But I will report back when I try it!
Edit #2: It arrived today. It's smooth textured, almost bubbly, in a very pale beige color, sticky and slippery at the same time. Smells very much like a combination of honey and coconut (as one would expect). Slides on nicely, but very soon it felt kind of tingly. it was weird. I followed the instructions (apply a thin layer after cleansing, let sit for 20 min and rinse) and followed my routine as usual, but I only let it sit maybe 5 minutes on account of the tingling since it started to dry and get slightly uncomfortable. But once you rinse it, your skin feels very smooth. I don't know if it'll last, since I started out only putting moisturizer on, no petrolatum like usual, and my fine lines started showing again and feeling dry, so we'll see. I suspect that this might be mildly irritating, since I had a couple of red bumps (in different spots than the ones I had before from a reaction to something else) but I'm going to give it another try tomorrow, since maybe my skin's still healing.
Edit #3: I've decided it's not for me, probably due to the vitamin A and C, either of which seem to irritate and cause breakouts when applied as topical ingredients for me. The irritation caused some breakouts, and I had to use my benzaclin again, which I really don't like doing. It's a shame, since it's such a promising product, and so simple. Maybe I'll try making my own version from just shea butter and honey someday.
I still love their olive forte cleansing oil, however.
