Yesterday I went to a skin therapist to find out whether or not IPL treatment for my broken caps would be helpful. I got my Rosacea under control and found a good skincare routine, so I thought this would be the last step to finally get rid of those broken caps on my nose and cheeks. She examined my skin and concluded it would be helpful. She would be able to get rid of/diminish those caps and spider veins by 70% with one treatment of half an hour, using a KTP (IPL) laser (green light). Costs are $350 for treating both cheeks and nose. We made an appointment for October 23rd. One month prior to treatment you are supposed to protect your skin by using an SPF of at least 15. After treatment I might experience slight irritation and redness for 24 hours and the forming of crusts on the treated areas. I have to avoid sun exposure, spicy food, alcohol, excessive exercising and hot water for a couple of days and protect my skin using a sunblock. The broken caps might return on other places (you don't get rid of the cause of these of course) but avoiding previously mentioned things might prevent this from happening. She said most people need to repeat treatment every year or so. So I'm really excited and can't wait to have it done and see the results! BTW she complemented me on my skin, still looking very good for my age and considering the fact I have very sensitive, fragile skin with Rosacea and Couperosa ;D Wish me good luck and I'll happily post my findings after treatment!
