In the DSPW and Rosacea post I posted that I'm going back to square one with makeup and skincare because I'm having a pretty bad flare up of my rosacea and my skin is just plain sore.  Anyway, last night out of sheer desperation I went to Wal-Mart and bought Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Bar for dry, sensitive skin (I tend to do better with bar cleansers for some reason) and Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion - fragrance free.  This Aveeno lotion isn't in the facial skincare section, it's over by the body lotions.  I bought it because I've read that dimethicone is soothing to rosacea and the active ingredient in the Aveeno is 1.3% dimethicone.  So last night and today I've been using this - sweet relief!  It is actually cooling going on and my face isn't red for the 1st time in who know how long!  I couldn't be happier!  I just hope it doesn't make me break out!  And my face isn't greasy at all - in fact, even most oil-free moisturizers just sit there and don't sink in and look shiny, even though my skin is dry.  The Aveeno just sinks right in!

I'm wondering if I should find a dimethicone-based foundation as well?  I'm using Physician's Formula Le Velvet Film at the moment for the sunscreen and it doesn't irritate my skin at all, so maybe I should just stick with it since it's working okay.

Just wanted to share - I would never had used a plain lotion or body lotion on my face before - I can't imagine any problem with doing so - the ingredient list is pretty "bland" - nothing fancy, just dimethicone.
