Hi Everyone,
In all the DS sections of the book, Dr. B seems to recommend topical antibiotics for acne. And, a few months ago, when I went, my biggest concert was the redness and flushing I was getting at the time, and so she prescribed Metrocream. It made matters worse (redness and flushing-wise), after only 3 days, so I stopped on account of my symptoms were improving through different skincare (I use a much gentler cleanser than I used to, and focus much more on hydrating than I did before, and it's really worked well), so I saw no need to continue it.
However, I got to thinking....(this always leads to trouble)... Metrocream contains an antibiotic (metronidazole), so would it work for acne?
[Basically, I'm reluctant to go back to a derm since I only have health insurance for another two weeks, and my acne is enough to trouble me, but I get the feeling that most people don't really give it much thought, so I know it's not severe enough to warrant a whole visit. Whereas, people would kindly let me know my ears were all red ;D]
Any thoughts?
