I just made the long overdue switch from tap water to distilled water, and it's already showing some improvement. Doing it this way I use less water altogether (I pour some onto a cotton disposable facial pad I found at a drug store, and gently wipe off the cleanser, rather than all the splashing and using fingertips to remove).
I do have a question about it, though. I notice that the container has an expiration date. I didn't think it was possible for DW to go bad. Once opened, how long can I keep using it without putting it in the refrigerator (which I'd rather not do, since then it'll be kind of too cold to use comfortably). Nothing ever touches the opening or is dipped inside, so contamination shouldn't be an issue, but I'm curious how people do this.
