I can't figure out what's going on with my skin. It is flaking like it does when you just start using a prescription retinol. I can get it to look fine and then apply my foundation and it looks awful.

Here's what I'm using:
AM
La Roche-Posay Toleriane Dermo Cleanser (switched from Eucerin Redness Relief Gel just a few days ago)

Glytone Glycolic Acid (have used this over a year at rec. of my dermatologist) , so don't think this is the problem, although I have cut back from every day to around 2x a week)

Aveeno Ultra Calming Daily Moisturizer (SPF 15)

PM
La Roche-Posay Toleriane Dermo Cleanser

Renova generic tretinoin cream .05% (have used Renova for about a year and a half with no problem, although the new generic could have caused a problem)

Atopalm MLE Face Cream (recently started using this, hoping it would help--was using La Roche-Posay Toleriane Facial Cream, which was fine this summer but thought I needed a more emoillent cream for winter)

I'm not sure what to do. I've used my foundation for a while, so don't think that's the problem. I use either Elizabeth Arden Flawless Face or Dr. Denese Pro Peptide. Neither are drying at all. Sometimes I use a foundation primer--Dr. Denese Vitamin C Radiance Cream. I've used this for close to two years, and it used to help with flakies but makes no difference anymore. I really hate this. It makes me dread putting my make-up on as it doesn't look right anymore.

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions I'd be interested in hearing. I really haven't used the new cleanser long enough to know if it will help, so want to continue with that for a while. Do those of you who use the La Roche-Posay cleanser use it dry or with water??

I had a problem with drying skin last winter, too, and can't remember how I finally made it better (or if I did). Thanks for any input.
